Scenario: The Pronoun Trap Mission
Operator Briefing:
You’ve intercepted two short witness statements from a “Scene Report”. Both contain the word “it” and your job is to work out what “it” refers to.
Here’s the twist: you’re not alone on this mission.
- You’ll do it first using your own reasoning.
- Then you’ll ask an AI chatbot to interpret the same sentences.
- Finally, you’ll compare your answers like a real analyst: because in the real world, tiny context clues change meaning, and AI can make confident guesses that don’t match yours.
Your mission: learn why context matters, and how “attention” helps (but doesn’t guarantee correctness).
Step 1: Answer these questions yourself.
Read the sentence:
“The dog chased the cat because it was fast.”
Now read this:
“The dog chased the cat because it was scared.”
Step 2 - Ask a chatbot to answer the question.
Open your preferred chatbot, for example:
(Or, use another platform if you prefer).
Copy this text into your chatbot:
Read the sentence:
“The dog chased the cat because it was fast.”
Now, copy this text into your chatbot:
Now read this:
“The dog chased the cat because it was scared.”
Step 3 - Mission Debrief.
Match check: Did the AI agree with you for both sentences?
Evidence check:
Context lesson: What does this show about context?
